wildwood@midmaine.com BioWHY I am here/got to be here: My grandaughter, Kea, has a site here! She sent ME here just prior to leaving for the adventure of her young life! SO...this has been created to give you/her/me a route of travel between here and there! SHE is just outside of NYC...I am just outside Canaan, Maine!
Hah...my town's BIGGER! In land area, that is!
SHE is being a nanny to her cousin's baby girl...Arianna...isn't that a LOVELY name? I think so! SHE is Asia's daughter...then isn't THAT another lovely name? I think so! So...let me introduce myself...I am NahNah, Kea's NahNah, Sophie's, Christian's, Caelan's, Ty's, Alex's AND Ava's...and WAYYYYY old, almost as tired as old, and have truly white hair! It's my own! I don't color it what? white! I am wayyyy past 60, my hair might be older than THAT! It's borrowed from my mama and dada...well, of COURSE you must expect me to speak babyeese...after all, SHE has Ariana, and I have AVA...Lillian... Ariana and Ava Lillian are right close in age and most assuredly on the same wavelength. Well...maybe...KeaKea, does Ariana have ringlets? curls? or straights? Well...doesn't matter, we do know they speak the same, identical language. Ariana is just a bit older!
Now, I said Kea was on an adventure. I am adventuring TOO! From my computer chair I go all over the world! Can you just imagine this? When I was KeaKea's age, I had NO idea that I'd be able to venture like this forty years later...what FUN! I had no idea I'd be able to take instant photos with my 'digital' camera! NO idea whatsoever that my dial phone would be replaced by one I could carry with me wherever I go! So, you see, this IS an adventure. After Kea returns, this becomes just a way to add chapters to life!
Now for a bio:
I enjoy the feeling of warm sunshine on my face in the spring & summer, and a woodstove at my back in the cold of winter. And Ice Cream (one MUST have a good source of calcium)! I love a warm bed in the winter and comfort in the summer. My animals keep me company and share my bed all year 'round.
An extensive music collection, creation of my own card line and my Adobe programs make life quite busy. My children are grown, the youngest two live south of us, the eldest two live just miles away, with all their wonderful children. I travel to Portland weekends to be with the youngest two grandchildren while Mummy & Daddy work! What a privilege it is to be able to do this, to be accepted as true, everyday family while I'm there with them.
I'd love to build a bungalow in our woods that is environmentally friendly, with natural opportunities to heat and cool. Winters are harsh, summers more bearable. We live in an old hippy house, partly constructed in the late '30's by a hippie farmer of those days, and later added to by actual hippies of the 60's. Now, the cabin has seen its better days and needs to be replaced. Southern exposure, surrounded by woods, with a hill of granite rock and a beautiful brook running through the property...many old rock walls remain in place.
A dream for some, yet a harsh reality for us...life IS very hard living in the woods of Maine.

I am a Republican,white,tallgrowingshorter,conservative,fatter,slower,braver,stronger,better,wiser AND very, very outspoken. I blogblogblogblog...and get quoted, moved here and there, used as a come-on to attract other bloggers, and LOVE the people I meet blogging.
So...I do photography, use Adobe to play with my photos, create anything I want or dare to; painted signs after I knew I was really an artist, won my first art contest at nine, taught nursery school, taught art for the Boy's/Girl's Club and adult ed; framed for a living while my kids were at home; was on the board of our local humane society. Now...I play, befriend, and spend every single weekend with Ava while her parents work. FIRST time in my life I've been free enough to BE with my grandchildren...what a loss that's been for ME. Married. married. married. married. enough said. Hate pedophiles, want to see them all hung from the nearest rafter. Without exception. Including the one I most unfortunately married. Can you just imagine finding out that your beloved husband is a pedophile, in reality? Thus ended that love! I was left with the best part of that marriage: two wonderful sons.
I wish for a world free of hurt for any child, free of death for any fetus, and good health for everyone. I wish for a return to the Roman days when molesters were hung upside down in the public square! until they died.
I am a sensitive. I know when others need my assistance. It's been this way for a number of years now. Sometimes I need to help...sometimes I resent having to do so! But when one must, one must.
This journal is for THAT...thoughts...whatever. I am open to words but not demands. A good judge but not being used.
